IRM - Istanbul Risk Management – is a business risk consultancy specialising in business intelligence, due diligence and corporate investigations in Turkey, South-eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. In a part of the world where the larger risk consulting firms have not had a direct presence, IRM has established itself as a unique regional resource.

Our firm was incorporated in Turkey in 2003. But as a contractor for the biggest global investigations firms, the risk advisory practice goes back further as a unit within IBS – a research and consultancy house that supports incoming investors in Turkey and the region.

IRM’s founding partners include British and Turkish individuals with long experience in the region as journalists, investigators and analysts. All the partners and the project staff in Istanbul are fluent in Turkish and English and other languages and have deep experience in the region. Since 2008 IRM’s managing director is Gabriel Rayfield.

Our operations are informed by practical business understanding and the backgrounds of key staff in both business intelligence and traditional commercial research. Our staff and associates, besides their expertise in investigations and intelligence, bring to our company their knowledge of business consultancy, commercial research, law, accounting and journalism. Although IRM is fully independent, external instructors from global risk advisory groups give IRM project staff formal training in investigation techniques and best practices.

Our intention is to consolidate our performance and abilities, offering clients in our region a more compelling and more transparent service than any other available.
